Riza Berkan, Ph.D

President, Founder, Chief Scientist

Founder of The exClone project, Dr. Berkan is a nuclear scientist by training with a specialization in artificial intelligence and fuzzy logic. He is the author the book Fuzzy Systems Design Principles published by IEEE, and published over 100 scientific articles on artificial intelligence, neural networks, fuzzy logic, and semantics. Dr. Berkan has a decade of experience in semantic search technologies and startups like AnswerChase, hakia, and MoodTrade. He was nominated in the Executive Council of New York’s TEN Awards for Best “Up and Comer”, a prestigious award honoring the best senior executives in New York City, in 2009.

Oguz Akgungor

Chief Technology Officer, Co-founder

Oguz is the application software architect of exClone. He has previously built software systems for credit card automation, and natural gas field operations automations. Oguz was system developer at hakia for 6 years between 2006 and 2012 and senior developer in AIG since 2015. He is the system architect of DrCHAT. Oguz holds a BS degree in Mathematics from Bogazici University, and an M.S. degree in Education Science from Yildiz Teknik University in Istanbul, Turkey. He resides in New York.

David Kuhn, ESQ

Chairman, Co-founder, General Counsel

David graduated from Harvard in 1989 after achieving academic and athletic awards, as well as playing quarterback for the Ivy League Championship football team in 1987. His career spans being a litigation attorney in NYC, business executive, professional photographer, film producer, and war journalist. He practiced law in Manhattan Supreme Court for 10 years as a criminal defense litigator, and has gone on to serve as counsel for various start-up businesses, events and organizations handling finance, formation, contracts and negotiations. As a journalist, he has been published in Vanity Fair, Vogue, The New York Times, and numerous online publications. He is currently COO of RTG, LLC., and serves as general counsel for Charlotte Street Films, The Eisenhower Project, and exClone, Inc., while also representing select individual clients from his base in New York City.

David McDonell

A multi-decade technology commercialization veteran of the Internet, mobile and digital media mega-trends, David McDonell has been a successful trailblazer and innovation leader for major global corporations (MCI, SAIC, British Telecom) and influential startups (Imagenomic, Altamira Group, IRIS Systems Development). He earned a B.A. in International Relations from American University (Washington, DC) following multidisciplinary studies at the University of Edinburgh (UK) and the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Lara Tanbay

Lara is a Global Strategic Marketing and Competitive Intelligence Professional. She has over 5 years of experience doing research and analysis of medical technologies and pharmaceutical products for Fortune 500 clients. She has discovered sales and marketing channels to bring products to new markets, with a specific focus on the U.S., Germany and, Turkey. Lara has an M.B.A. from Thunderbird School of Global Management and a B.A. in Political Science from Columbia University. She speaks German and Turkish.

Dila Baktiroglu

Director, International Business Development

Dila has eight years of sales, marketing, and business development experience as well as startup incubator experience as the Chief Engagement Officer at Girisim Fabrikasi. She was the cofounder of Toyji, and director of sales and marketing at Borda Technology. At Microsoft Turkey, Dila was a SMS&P Public Sector Education Specialist, and BizSpark & WebsiteSpark Program Specialist. Dila has a B.A. degree in Public Relations & Rhetorical Advocacy, Minored in Advertising and Management from Purdue University.

Karen Axt, Ph.D, ESQ

Advisory Board, Intellectual Property

Karen Axt is a registered patent attorney with 15+ years of experience assisting and counseling large and small companies (domestic and foreign), as well as individuals and non-profits, with their intellectual property needs. She has expertise in procuring, defending and licensing trademarks and patent rights in a wide range of industries, managing worldwide portfolios of such properties, and procuring US copyright protection. Ms Axt also has a PhD in pharmacology from the University of Chicago and worked as a research scientist at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine for 10 years prior to entering the legal profession.
